This class is aimed at anyone wanting to learn how to construct a satchel using traditional methods as opposed to many of the mass produced trend-led satchels currently available. The idea is to create a high fashion product but concentrating on the attributes that make a good quality satchel such a wardrobe essential - beautifully subtle vegetable tanned leather, quality fittings and a crafted finish.

All the pattern pieces are pre-cut for the students who will have the opportunity to choose from a selection of high quality of Italian vegetable tanned leathers in a variety of colours, and from a choice of buckles.

During the class students will learn traditional hand stitching as well as using industrial sewing machine techniques. The bags will be raw edged and students will learn how to burnish and buff their bags, giving them the high quality finish.

Please bring  a pair of sharp fabric scissors with you. All the materials are included in the price. Students will be able to choose between two different Satchel styles, tanned and black colours and from a choice of high quality brass or nickel-plated brass buckles.

No previous skills are needed and the course is suitable for everyone.

Class maximum: 6 students.
