Five-Day Intense Shoemaking
Duration: 35 hours
Class times: 10am till 6pm
This class is aimed at beginners and improvers looking to gain knowledge and technique over a short intense period.
Students spend the first part of the course learning basic pattern cutting skills and produce patterns for a full pair of ladies shoes. They move on to preparing the upper and component materials with the aim of completing a pair by the end of the session. The emphasis is on construction but, depending on individual ability and skill level, it may be possible for students to interpret their own design ideas. The tutor will discuss this with each student during the preliminary stages of the course.
A choice of ladies lasts are on offer for the use of students during the workshop sessions and shoes can be made in their own standard size (British 2 to 11, European 35 to 45, American 4.5 to 13.5), subject to availability.
