This class is ideal for anyone interested in making head-pieces for special occasions, such as Royal Ascot and Hen parties. You'll be taught how to block the small base upon which to mount the decorative elements and need to come along with your choice - lace, tulle, feathers, sequins - to make wonderful effects. The tutor will teach you a range of decorative techniques, helping you to create a stylish and professional looking hat or fascinator fit for the most stylish occasions.

Sinamay ironing and arrangement

Securing a headpiece

The price includes refreshments and some basic materials essential to hat making, including the firm base, thread, wax, wire and combs, and the use of wooden hat blocks in the studio.

You will need to bring:

The materials for the hat itself, which include:
Blocking and trimming - felt, straw, sinamay, visca, and various other fabrics.
