Scheduled with a choice of weekend or weekday classes in London and weekend classes in San Francisco, this two day shoemaking course is aimed at newcomers to shoemaking, looking to learn the basics. Students study the fundamental techniques of shoemaking allowing them to complete a pair of ladies mules by the end of a session.
Shoemaking patterns are provided and the emphasis is on the making rather than design. However, the choice of our three shoe styles, either with a two inch heel or a flatie, is very contemporary and mules can be made in standard sizes (British 2 to 9, European 35 to 42, American 5.5 to 11.5) as well as from a variety of finishes, fabric or leather.
The price includes specialist shoe components. Three types of shoe lasts are provided in the class and if the students wish, they can purchase our Shoemaking Kit for practice at home before or after the class. If ordering the kit at the same time when booking for a course, there will be 10% discount for the kit - please click here for details.
We also provide a limited selection of pig skin in the studio as the leather for lining, of colours such as natural, black, grey and brown, but you are welcome to bring your own lining leather.
