This unique course is aimed at anyone who loves theatre costumes, performs classical ballet or has a friend or relative who performs, either as an amateur or professional.

Over the two days students make and fit a professional 10-layer, 16-inch wide tutu skirt using specialist tulle and dance materials. Tutor Amanda Hall is a dancewear specialist, she makes tutus for the Royal Ballet and she will guide you through all necessary details including measuring, cutting, pleating, sewing and assembling to a Royal Ballet standard. You will learn the techniques of how to make an authentic, traditional ballet tutu in a professional way.

Included in the price are specialist materials including stiff net and tulle from Whaleys of Bradford, as well as cotton bobbinet, cotton drill, petersham ribbon in white.

Things you need to bring with you:

• sharp scissors
• notebook
• pencil

No previous experience necessary.  Basic Sewing Skills will be useful.
